Walmart's first Holiday Deals Event starts tomorrow — but the best early deals a

Don't let anyone try to sell you that "gloomy fall" balderdash — October rules! Aside from the beauteous foliage, clear, cool evenings and crisp sunny days, it's jam-packed with fun stuff. This past week alone saw Octoberfest (Prost!) and Rosh Hashanah (Shana tovah, bubeleh!). It's also the only month of the year during which MLB, the NFL, the NBA and the NHL are all in action. And, of course, it culminates in the thrills and chills of Halloween.

October's so much fun, especially here at the outset, that you might find yourself neglecting your shopping surveillance. No worries; we're on the case, and, well, you'll want to put down the pumpkin spice latte for a minute and check out Walmart's cornucopia of slamming sales this week. Get seasonal and stylish in one fell (fall?) swoop with a plaid flannel shacket for as low as $24, snag a Windows 11 laptop from HP at just $138, suck up a Shark upright vac for less than half price ($97!) and, well, an allergy-fighting air purifier for 65% off is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

Oh, and the deals don't end here — far from it. Walmart's own anti-Amazon October Prime Day sale, the Walmart Holiday Deals Event, begins tomorrow, Oct. 8 and runs through Oct. 13. We expect it to be a great time to start stocking up on holiday gifts and entertaining essentials, so don't forget to throw it on the calendar!

Walmart Holiday Deals: Fall refresh

WalmartShark Navigator Lift-Away XL Upright Vacuum$97$199Save $102

The Navigator is lightweight, so you can take it with you from room to room without it feeling like a workout session. A lift-away detachable pod allows you to easily get into those hard-to-reach spaces. With a price this low, you might want to think ahead and grab one for a holiday gift, too.

"We have four dogs and three cats in our home, so it can be a challenge to keep up with the shedding," shared one reviewer. "We recently tried the Shark Navigator XL vacuum and I'm very impressed. This thing sucked up all kinds of dirt and hair my other vacuum left behind! The filter also seems to work better on this vacuum, as I find myself not needing to dust as much."
